Originally a water mill built in the 1800’s, Arrow Mill is a hotel/pub/restaurant set in the heart of rural Warwickshire, close to Stratford upon Avon, by the roman market town of Alcester. It is surrounded by a spectacular, secluded riverside setting and overlooks the estate of Ragley Hall.
To achieve the extra space required in response to the pandemic, Fews were invited to build a restaurant extension marquee on the stone terrace adjacent to the main building.
A 9m x 15m clear span marquee was constructed on the stone terrace, supplemented by a 3m x 6m clear span marquee and 6m x 6m entrance pagoda to provide a neat, weatherproof fit to the existing building.
To maximise natural lighting, a clear PVC roof and clear walls were installed on the main structure, with the latter able to be opened providing the necessary ventilation.
With the structures expected to be in use throughout the autumn and winter, this long term hire agreement was a practical and robust solution for a beautiful establishment.
For many hospitality businesses, pub extension marquees and restaurant extension marquees will be a necessary feature for some time to come under current pandemic conditions.
