Following an initial postponement due to Covid-19, the Euro 2020 tournament got under way in the summer of 2021, and we were contacted to build the England team media centre at St Georges Park.
The requirement was to build a main press conference centre, an office, a catering area, a testing station as well as individual interview pods for the broadcasters.
Each of the marquee structures were erected next to the main training pitches to ensure easy access for both players and the media.
A 20m x 20m clear-span Premium Structure with curved PVC roof on 3m leg was provided for the media main centre with additional 20 x 5m clear roof canopy for the outdoor astro-turfed area. A deck level cassette ring beam floor system ensured a stable level base for the production equipment. Hard walls, access ramps, personnel doors, glass windows and door completed the marquee.
The five individual broadcast areas were 5m x 5m pagoda structures each with 2 hard walls, a white PVC wall, a window wall, and a cassette ring beam floor. The FA office was a 5m x 5m clear-span Premium structure with apex PVC roof on 3m leg.
In addition, we built a 3m x 3m Pagoda testing structure and a 3m x 3m clear-span catering marquee.
Players and media used the facility continuously throughout, providing a secure base for reporting of a highly successful tournament for both the organisers and the England team.
