To house the event in a manner befitting its surroundings, the organising team commissioned an 80-metre Fews Orangery Structure — a temporary structure that complemented the Christopher Wren-designed hospital’s baroque grandeur without compromising the historic lawns.
The structure’s clean lines, curved roof, full-height glazed panels with fretwork, and black aluminium framework created a contrast between the contemporary and the classical, flooding the interior with daylight before transitioning beautifully into a fully lit, climate-controlled dining hall as dusk fell.
Inside, the 1,600 square metres of space was transformed by an events agency into a vision of floral fun.
Bespoke furniture, vivid floral installations drawing on the Hospital’s famous Ranelagh Gardens, and a custom audio and lighting rig suspended from the Fews Orangery event structure combined to create an atmosphere of quiet prestige.
