The Hillsong Conference is all about championing the cause of the church of Jesus Christ — across every nation, denomination, age and background.
Since 1986, Hillsong in Australia has hosted its annual conferences where thousands of people gather to hear about church leadership, worship, and community engagement from Hillsong’s key team members and other renowned Christian leaders. Hillsong now hosts this annual conference across three major cities internationally each year including at the 02 in London.
The organisers invited Fews Marquees, for the second year running, to provide a solution to house their Kidsong area, a space partitioned by age group, where the children of delegates could safely play and perform throughout the conference, within the 02 quadrant. Also for consideration was the need to ensure the structures provided were in harmony with the 02 itself.
One of the key challenges of this project was the very limited space offered for construction and siting of the structures.
To house the Kidsong area we provided a 14m high 30m x 55m Igloo structure with a silver external / black internal roof sheet at the stage end and white roof sheeting over the remainder of the structure. This combination was to create the right environment – a split between play and performance areas. A cassette ring beam floor was installed covered by a new black carpet, and the area was divided by 2 x 30m timber partition walls to provide the areas for the different age groups. A 15m x 25m clearspan Premium structure was also provided as an additional marquee for the same purpose.
All areas were carefully branded in-line with Hillsong’s guidelines.
In addition, we provided:
• Air conditioning throughout
• Toilets
• Lighting
• Site Attendant
