Fews offer modular buildings to many sectors and have developed some specific products for use in emergency response situations including Temporary Refugee Accommodation, Canteens, Medical Centres and Administrative hubs.
As many countries are now experiencing increased numbers of migrants and asylum seekers due to the global situation, then such emergency accommodation and humanitarian shelters are in greater demand than ever. Supplying technically robust solutions quickly with the minimum of fuss is the minimum required to tackle the problem.
Our solutions can be built in any location and on most surfaces including grass, concrete, tarmac and gravel. In fact it is possible to build on any surface other than sand which presents unique problems. This gives the option of providing refugee accommodation exactly where it is needed, rather than where housing or hotel stock is located, making a fast solution more viable. We always do full ground scans to search for utility infrastructure and other potential hazards.
Fews can offer rapid response in terms of supply of structure and on-site build times. Where needed, we can supply full turnkey solutions including full project management and a variety of fit-out options.
We offer very energy efficient structures through optional insulated walls and roofs and ensuring minimum possible heat escape through effective sealing.
Fews has invested significantly in sustainable energy sources, equipment, processes and vehicles over a long period of time including deriving our heat and power from biomass and solar energy. For more information on our sustainable journey please click here.
This approach extends to our structures which we maintain before and after use to increase product longevity, as well as offering energy efficient insulation and heating options.
Fews offer a very fast installation service where required. Our temporary buildings can be installed on hard standing concrete, tarmac, gravel or grass, and it is possible for them to be either free-standing or connected to existing buildings. The quality of our structures mean they can be in place for three months or even 20 years. We are able to build in very confined spaces if the choice of location is limited.
Fews’ team of project managers are the experts in our industry, and they control the delivery of each project from start to finish. In each case our team has a laser focus on the last 10% of delivery – exactly where the difference is made. We provide high quality solutions to the most complex of problems including building in tight spaces, specific insulation needs, ground fixings and access. Site visits are free and without obligation.
Fews have a team of project managers ready to take you through every stage of the process. From the initial enquiry through to handover, a single point of contact will make sure that every detail is given the attention it deserves. Our project managers are all experienced experts in the field and form a dedicated and committed team focussed on ensuring that every project reaches a satisfactory conclusion. On each project we are on hand to deliver fast solutions to every problem and provide a professional and prompt handover.
Constructing temporary buildings on operational sites requires a skilled workforce with specific qualifications. We provide a tailored service to such sites to make sure that all construction works are isolated and the public is safe. It is of critical importance that we reduce the risk of injury to the lowest possible levels to minimise your liability and protect all stakeholders. You can trust us, and this is why:
Maintaining high professional standards is fundamental to the Fews approach. We have many health and safety, process and environmental accreditations including CHAS Elite, SafeContractor, Constructionline Silver, ISO9001 and ISO14001.
All personnel involved in the construction process must undergo Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks to ensure a safe and secure working environment in proximity to the public.
The ability to deliver materials outside of regular hours is essential to minimise disruptions to the ongoing educational activities and ensure the safety of the public and staff alike. This requires coordination and planning to ensure a seamless construction process.
There are a number of essential accreditations that are required to work in any environment. Fews also operate on numerous nuclear sites which means a much higher level of training and accreditation. There is more information on our accreditations and training programmes.
All of our site staff wear branded hi-viz clothing and all of our vehicles are clearly branded for easy identification to ensure the safety of the public and staff.
