The largest, fastest, most efficient PVC cleaning machine

Fews has once again invested in the future.  This time Fews have collaborated with Straight Eight Engineering to further develop the S8E6000TT Contineuous Marquee Washing Machine.  The results are amazing, not only is the machine more efficient, more sustainable but also the largest machine of its kind in the world!

When Fews & Straight Eight set out on this project they were not intent on simply making the largest it had to be the best and to be the best it needs efficient, reliable and sustainable.

Both companies were at a good starting point as they had already collaborated to design and build the previous machine which was in daily use at Fews and still the market leader being the only continuous marquee washing machine with intergrated drying chamber.  But both Ian Few & Peter Bonham Christie are not men who settle and are constantly striving for the best, so the new project was born.

Using the exisiting machine Straight Eight could design new features and Fews rigorously test them ensuring they were the best they could be whislt not wasting time or resources a strategic and satainable way to develop with perfect results.

With sustainability a major design factor the base material was strongly considered.  The result is the New S8E6000TT is build from Composit utilising the best and most sustainable materials in the market.  With Composit it is also possible to get the perfect shapes and form needed to achieve the best cleaning.  Starting from a clean sheet gave Ian and Peter the option to consider anything and everything, and often decisions like manufacturing using Composit rather than Steel had both efficieny benefits as well as sustainability.

The new S8E6000TT is now installed and operational at Fews and the results are excellent, the machine is cleaning perfectly as before but at a much higher speed.  With the enlarged drying chamber the covers are coming out bone dry including the keders and bungees saving extra man power drying and ultimately lengthing the lifespan of the PVC.

When we look at sustainability it is notable that since Fews has invested in ensuring their covers are kept perfectly clean and dry, the life span of the covers has almost doubled halving the carbon footprint of its competiotors who have to replace their covers more often.

The S8E6000TT is still kept simple with good design and an ethos of not over complicating when simple good design will work.  The cover is pulled through a soap solution where most of the dirt is removed falling into the V shaped tank below, allowing for the dirt to be easly removed again reducing the frequency the water needs to be changed.  This simple V is good design that is made possible by Composit and again improves efficiency and sustainability drasticly reducing the water used.

Once the cover is fully submerged in the soap solution it goes through the first set of brushes which are designed to scrub and remove / loosen the dirt before the cover then goes into the fresh water tank before going through the rinse brushes and rinse sprays.  Again the water for the rinse tank is recycled usinging a combination of filters ensuring minimal water useage.

All the brushes on the machine are designed specifically for their use and the wash brushes, rinse brushes and final polish brushes are all different materials unlike other machines on the market who have one brush to cover all aspcets of the cleaning.  The different brush material also allows for Fews to use the machine for clear roofs with most companies still washing these roofs by hand as their machines scratch the clear PVC.

Once through the rinse brushes, the covers go through the final polish brushes that ensure a perfect streak clean finish before the cover starts the drying procces first by going between the Air Knifes and then into the drying tank when it weaves its way through the roller setup ensuring the maximum time possible spent in the drying chamber and the result being perfectly clean and perfectly dry covers ready for your next event.
